For family members affected by addiction, one of the most difficult struggles is isolation.

EMBRACE is all about creating places where we can reach out to one another and share our stories, our successes, our setbacks, our fears

and our constant, constant worry.

As importantly, it’s a place where we can

reach out and find the help and support to

end our isolation and put a face on the

family disease of addiction.

  • How do you talk to your neighbor about your son’s heroin addiction?

  • How do you explain to your youngest son that his sister is an alcoholic and that you’re terrified because she turns 18 in two weeks and then you have no control over her?

  • How are you supposed to concentrate at work when you’re terrified every afternoon of getting “the call,” knowing your wife could be drunk when she picks up your children
from school—and they could all end up in an accident on the ride home?
